Cups to Grams Converter
Convert cups, tablespoons, teaspoons or millilitres to grams and ounces for flour, sugar, butter and dozens more ingredients.
How this is calculated
The amount you enter is first turned into a volume in millilitres: one US customary cup is 236.588 millilitres, a tablespoon is a sixteenth of a cup and a teaspoon is a forty-eighth. That volume is then multiplied by how much one cup of the chosen ingredient weighs, to give grams.
The weight per cup is the middle value across the published sources used for this site, and the lowest and highest values are shown with the answer. Ingredients such as flour can differ by 10 percent or more depending on whether they are spooned, scooped or sifted, so treat the result as a close guide and weigh the ingredient when a recipe needs precision.
Ounces are avoirdupois ounces, 28.35 grams each, the unit used on US food scales and packages.
Limits
US customary cups, tablespoons and teaspoons only. Results depend on how the ingredient is packed. Amounts up to 100000 of the chosen unit.
