Convert and Scale a Whole Recipe

Paste a recipe, set the servings you want, and get every cup, tablespoon and stick converted to grams and scaled to match.

How this is calculated

Each line is read as an amount, an optional unit and an ingredient, such as "1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted". Whole numbers, decimals, fractions, mixed numbers and symbols such as ½ are understood. Ranges like "1-2 cups" are not guessed at: the line is kept and marked so you can choose a number yourself.

The scaling factor is the servings you want divided by the servings the recipe makes, so a recipe for 4 that you want for 6 is multiplied by 1.5. Every amount is scaled, including lines such as "3 eggs" that have no unit to convert.

Cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, millilitres and litres are converted to grams using the weight per cup of the ingredient, taken from the sourced table behind the grams to cups converter. Sticks convert for butter and margarine only (a US stick is half a cup). Amounts already in grams, kilograms, ounces or pounds are scaled and shown in grams. Ingredients not in the table are left as you wrote them.

Limits

Up to 40 ingredient lines. US cups, tablespoons and teaspoons. Specialty variants such as coconut flour, kosher salt or evaporated milk are not in the table, so they are left as written, not guessed.
